Queen Nzinga

Queen Nzinga, one of the most notable female rulers in African history. Born into the ruling family of Ndongo, Angola, in approximately 1581, Nzinga was a fierce opponent of the slave trade and European colonization during the seven-teenth century. Renowned for her diplomatic prowess and military leadership, she valiantly fought against Portuguese invasion and slave raids for an impressive three
decades. As a child, Nzinga received military and political training, which prepared her for her role as an ambassador to the Portuguese Empire. Her ability to resolve political crises earned her a reputation as a skilled diplomat. Today, Queen Anna Nzinga’s legacy lives on as an inspiration to people around the world who strive for justice and equality.
